Shur-Flo USA

Available in Midland, Texas and other yards across the USA & Canada

Shur-Flo tubular linings are thermoplastic liners that are inserted into oilfield tubulars in order to reduce and eliminate rod and tubing wear as well as corrosion. These liners are made from a variety of basic and proprietary blends of resins to meet the varying and demanding needs of wellbore conditions. These liners can be run into new and used tubulars either provided by Moore or supplied by the customer.

SHUR-FLO Applications

  • Natural Flow wells
  • Beam pumped, PCP, Gas Lift, Plunger Lift and ESP artificially lifted wells
  • Deviated and dog-legged wells
  • Water injection and disposal wells

SHUR-FLO Liner Advantages

  • Reduced Rod wear and failure due to the improved coefficient of friction of the sucker rod on the thermoplastic liner surface
  • Reduced Tubing Wear as a result of the liner sacrificially wearing from the rod friction
  • Reducing rod on tubing friction means reduced peak polished rod or torsional load
  • Reducing peak polished rod load means reduced stress on the rod string
  • Reducing stress on the rod string means “increased rod string life”
  • Minimize use of other costly rod and tubing wear solutions
  • Thermoplastic lined tubing mitigates corrosion by providing a “Holiday Free” corrosion barrier

Lined Tubing Applications

  • J.55 and L.80 new and used tubing
  • Lined Tubing
  • Pup Joints
  • Tuning Couplings
  • Swedges
  • Tubing Nipples

Inspection Services

  • PCP or rod pumping oil wells
  • Class 1, 1A, 11, 111 injection and disposal wells
  • Slant, deviated, or directional wellbore tubing strings
  • Chemical injection strings

QUALITY CONTROL AND PROCEDURES TUBULAR GOODS

  • Tubing inspected to customer requirements
  • Repaired to API specifications
  • Tubing is mechanically or steam cleaned to ensure bonding
  • Internally lined and stenciled

Why SHUR-FLO lined tubing should be your only choice for water injection or disposal well applications

  • It is a liner barrier that is mechanically inserted inside the tubing joint
  • The liner will not flake, crack, chip or come off. Your tubing string will always be internally protected… top to bottom
  • Liner is unaffected by turbulent flow
  • Shur-Flo liner has 10 times the erosion capabilities of bare steel
  • Liner is compatible with all stimulation fluids
  • Lined string can be used as work string
  • Tubing joints with liner inserted are virtually rig proof and will not be easily damaged while tripping

Liner Characteristics

We offer 3 different liners for our Shur-Flo lined tubing. Three of these liners are various versions of Ultra High Molecular Weight High Density Polyethylene.

Drift ID

60.3 MM (2 3/8″) = 1.60″

73.0 MM (2 7/8″) = 2.00″

88.9 MM (3 1/2″) = 2.50″

114.3 MM (4 1/2″) = 3.40″

SHUR-FLO 1

This is our standard liner option good to 131F in standard operating conditions. Most water injection applications and disposal well applications are suitable for this liner. Many low to moderate temperature pumping applications are also suitable for this Shur-Flo lined tubing. Working depths to about 5249 Feet is the limit for this liner option. This liner is black in color.

SHUR-FLO 2

This liner is a raised temperature HDPE good to 194F in standard operating conditions. This liner is ideal for higher temperature water injection/disposal wells and pumping wells with extended well depths to 6889 Feet. This liner is orange in color.

SHUR-FLO 5

Shur-Flo 5 is a proprietary blend of aliphatic Polyketone engineered polymer suitable for hydrocarbon applications. Our Shur-Flo 5 Lined Tubing maximum operation temperatures are 310°F. Excellent impact, hoop strength and ductility. Exceptional gas barrier properties combined with superb chemical resistance to aggressive chemicals and hydrocarbons. Also, this liner is highly resistant to abrasion and wear. This liner is Blue in color.
